Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign Drawing to a Close

As you may know, Linda and I have been working on a breast cancer awareness campaign where we provide information about breast cancer awareness and participate in various fundraising efforts. The unique thing about our campaign is that we used it to not only raise money for breast cancer research, but also to feature other entrepreneurs who were also doing their part to raise funds.

All we asked was a $10 that would be forwarded to the breast cancer charities we work with and you would be listed as in our shopping directory for an entire year. And you know what? We only raised $170. I was so sorry to see that because we had the modest goal of sending an extra $300 for October.

There’s a few days left and you can help us reach our goal. Click here to help us with our breast cancer awareness fundraiser. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.

Did You Miss the Most Important Women’s Internet Marketing Event in 2004?

If so, there’s no worries. You can still be a part of the Women’s Web Workshop.

As you may recall, Internet Based Moms was a sponsor for the Women’s Web Workshop a short while ago. Well, not only did I sponsor the event, but I flew to Denver where women across the globe learned how to create and promote profitable websites — all in an intensive 3 day event in Sept. 2004.

Of course, not every woman could take the time away from her family and head over to Denver (I managed to bring my kids with me), but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all the great information and guidance from the all-female line up of speakers. Now you can hear everything that happened, complete with a ready-made action plan.

You can find out more at the Women’s Web Workshop website.

Big Seminar Update - It’s Amazing What Laughter Can Do

Well, of course I’m incredibly impressed by Armand Morin’s BigSeminar (I’m here in LA right now!). I got to meet in person finally:

> My fellow hot mama in biz Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero

> Sweet and super smart Alexandria Brown

> The very kind & brilliant John Reese (& handsome too, single ladies!)

And I’ve met plenty of other great people I plan to keep in touch with, but as I’m reflecting on the first day and a half, the thing I remember the most is the LAUGHTER. I don’t know when I’ve laughed so much, especially in a business setting. Many of the speakers have incorporated a whole lot of humor into their presentations and I think I may have peed my pants once or twice.

From Declan Dunn’s brilliant wit…to Jim Edward’s off the wall humor…to the wild and zany Marlon Sanders (I had a chance to speak to Marlon at a networking party and boy did I learn a lot of crazy things about him!)

Anyway, these guys really drove home the need to be happy, not to take ourselves too seriously and really enjoy what we’re doing. If business isn’t fun, maybe we shouldn’t be in business.

What No Internet Connection Can Do for Your Business

Hey there, you may be wondering where the heck I’ve been…or maybe not since I insisted I was ripping out my network card. Well, I did try to limit my Internet use as much as I could in those few critical days and it was amazing how much I got done.

I plugged in my network card almost only when I needed to FTP, log into my membership site or drop in on my forum. Of course, I say “almost” because I cheated a little now and then, but WOW! What a difference it made. I completed all I needed to get done!

It’s amazing what a little focus can do, isn’t it?

I’m Ripping out My Network Card!

ARGH! Just when I have so many projects to complete before I head out to the Big Seminar, I get so lost on the Internet, like when I was a newbie just a few years ago. ;) I keep going to my favorite forums a whole bunch of times a day; I’m reading people’s blogs; reading the news and quickly losing focus.

What’s up with me? I’ve got 2 sales letters to complete; 2 audio products to record; a printed product to finalize; an interview to do with a Mom Masterminds member; a problem to fix with my PDF software; and the list goes on.

Not to mention that I need to buy new shoes; get a haircut; clean my house; buy my husband a birthday gift (20th); buy a baby shower gift (a shower that starts in 14 hours); buy a gift for my neice’s birthday party on Sunday; do my bookkeeping; and this list also goes on.

So…yeah, I obviously have to work this weekend, but I’m yanking my network card out of my laptop in just a few minutes…so expect me to be hard to find until Monday. I’m going to, “Just Say NO to the Internet” for a little bit.

I Need a Favor from the Guys — It’ll Only Take a Second

I’m just working on an email series for a promotion I have coming up and if you are a married guy or a son….you can give me a hand. All I need you to do is complete one or two sentences for me.

Here they are - complete one or both of these sentences:

When my wife is happy, [list benefit to you - ex. "she doesn't nag about me leaving my socks on the floor"]

or

When my mom is happy, [list benefit to you - ex. "she doesn't expect me to call home quite as often"]

Email your answers to alice@aliceseba.com. I’d like to publish your first name and where you live (city, state/province and country)…so if you could include those, it would be great. If you prefer to be anonymous, just say so. Thanks, guys!
