“Blogger Won’t Let Me Schedule Posts!” – Or Will It?

Wednesday Words from YouLast week, when I wrote my 3 thoughts on When You Just Don’t Feel Like It one of my readers Chicken Soup for the Social commented:

“Great list. I often don’t feel like blogging but sometimes you have to. Since blogger.com won’t let me post in advance I usually have to make time.”

Although I have to admit that one of the deciding factors for my switching to WordPress was the ability to easily schedule posts. It makes it easy to write something now and forget about it…so you blog when you feel like it. Of course, you can also pre-write entries for Blogger and then publish them later, but it kind of takes away the spontaneity.

But that’s no longer necessary…
If you want to actually schedule posts in Blogger it CAN now be done.

Blogger has recently introduced “Blogger in Draft” which requires you to log in at http://draft.blogger.com and from there you can schedule your posts. Here’s how it works:

1. Remember to log in at: http://draft.blogger.com

2. Write your post as usual. At the bottom, click post options as shown below:

Blogger Post Options

2. Change the date and time to reflect when you want your post to be scheduled:

Edit Date in Blogger

3. Click “Publish Post”:

Publish Post Blogger

4. You’ll then see a message like this that says your scheduling was a success:

Publishing Notice Blogger

Tada! Great news for Blogger users.
