Bought a Flip Video Camera But…

I finally decided to bite the bullet and make my way into using video for marketing purposes. After reading a post on Lynn Terry’s blog, I thought the Flip Video Ultra Camera was a perfect solution for me. Outside of the ones on my cell phones and a short-lived web cam, I’d never owned a video camera and had no clue how to get edit videos, let alone get them on the net. It always just overwhelmed me, so this little camera seemed like a great solution.

So I ordered the camera (the orange one!) and tripod and eagerly awaited for it to arrive. This is a REALLY COOL tool, but alas, the inevitable happened…LOL. I hate seeing myself on video, so didn’t get very far. So, instead of a marketing video, I’ve put together a video to show you the joys of watermelon instead. I hope you like it! :-)

Seriously, the camera is very practical, economical and easy-to-use. Plus, it’s easy to pack in a handbag or even a pocket if you’re not the handbag carrying type. Recording is a snap and when you want to put the videos onto your computer, just click the switch and a USB plug pops out and you’re ready to roll.

  1. I just ordered one of those cameras myself and can’t wait to get it! Do you need special editing software or do you just plug it in and upload it to youtube?

    Gotta love watermelon face! :-)

No software at all. The camera doesn’t even come with a disk. All you do is plug into the USB and the software loads up.

  3. I just bought the RCA Small wonder that Lynn recommends further down in the same post. I have used it a lot because I can just stick it in my purse as it is so small. Unfortunately, now I think I will end up wanting to shoot more “me” videos for my blog and you know what that means: Hours devoted to doing the make up and hair. What a pain!

  4. Cute video, Alice! I have been looking at the RCA that Lynn purchased and I think it will be perfect for me although now I keep getting pulled towards the other cool camcorders that are out there LOL

Glad to hear you like the flip one. I was afraid it would be way over my head but if all I have to do is plug in the USB, I *think* I can handle that.

  5. Are these available in stores anywhere in Canada? Or only ordered online?

  6. Alice Seba

Not available in Canada, as far as I know. Amazon.com wouldn’t even ship it to Canada. Only allowed U.S. shipping.

  7. How many hours of video does it hold?

  8. Alice

There is a 30 minute and 60 minute version. I have the 60.

  9. Cute Video :)

I have the 60 minute recorder too, but I also bought a memory card (recommended on Amazon, only $10-$12) that holds an additional 5 hours.

    Enjoy Alice!
