What You Can Do with Photoshop
Watch This
All you graphics whizzes out there may yawn at this, but my graphical abilities are limited to resizing and cropping images.
I have great help with my graphics, but sometimes I wish I could do a few of things on the fly when an idea is sparked. Â
Here’s a cool video that shows what’s possible with Photoshop. It’s not a tutorial, but simply a sped-up excerpt from David Peters’ Learn Photoshop Now tutorials that shows you cool stuff you can do. I particuarly was intrigued by what he did with the lighthouse…pretty darned awesome.
If you go to the Learn Photoshop Now website, you’ll see another quick demonstration that shows some cool stuff. I’ll definitely be learning about that removing wrinkles trick. I’ll be needing that in the next few years.

The video shows the technique, which can be learned, but also the inherent talent to visualize the final result. That’s the tough part.
Regarding portraits; visit www.portraitprofessional.com and mouse over pictures in the gallery. Not only will the software reduce wrinkles, blemishes and red-eye, but it has an algorithm of what a good-looking face looks like.
The program (I bought it) does a slight adjustment for either camera distortion or natural flaws. It’s semi-automated, amazing and fun. I just upgraded to the newer version, but the photos on my site (a bit over-adjusted) were from a previous version.
Headers, buttons, website templates – visit www.quickwebcreations.com . The more expensive subscription level is worth it for the instructional videos. This is a great Photoshop alternative that requires minimal skill and time.
Need a huge photo? www.imagener.com allows blow-ups without
distortion beyond the norm. They have another program that allows you to blow up photos by tiling into 8.5″ x 11″ sheets from your printer.
