Slacking Off for Greater Productivity
I have been so lazy for the past couple weeks…and somehow more productive than ever. Can you imagine?
The weather’s been great, so we’ve been heading out to the water park, escaping the heat when necessary with an air-conditioned movie, barbecuing with friends and just having a great ol’ time. That has left limited hours for work, but the few hours I work are so incredibly productive. Who woulda thunk!
Clearly, if we spend 10 hours a day on the computer, it’s tough to stay productive. We start losing focus and becoming less effective, so if we cut that time in half, we’re likely to stay focused.
I’ve also dramatically cut my “to-do” list and this is a tip I shared recently with my IBMoms subscribers and it works like a charm. I expect less of myself and I’m getting so much more.
Here’s my challenge to you. Cut your to-do list in half and get out and have some fun. Then let me know what it does to your productivity. You’ll be surprised.

I have been stuck inside all summer and it feels like I’ve achieved nothing. I may as well try it your way because I have nothing to lose.
Hee hee that’s a great experience you’re having!
This is probably the single most biggest realization having to do with being productive - and profitable:
* Success is inversely proportional to hard work! *

I’m gonna try this!
Hi,
I think this is a great idea!

I have been to the beach so many times this summer and quite a few weekend camping trips. I’m finding I don’t get everything done, but a lot of what I haven’t been getting done isn’t that important anyway. It certainly doesn’t all have to be done Today. Have fun!
Slow down - you’ll make more money.
Hello, Alice and All!
I’m not a blogger, never been to visit one before, but your newsletter this morning touched on an important point that my husband and I work to live in our lives. We are followers of the teachings of the group calling themselves Abraham, who communicate through Esther Hicks, of San Antonio, TX.
Abraham tells us that “17 seconds of focus is worth a year of work”. And that it is not action, but focus which brings to us what we desire from the Universe. (Focus meaning believing in, visualizing, affirming, knowing, feeling, and staying out of fear and negative thoughts about any ‘lack’.)
So hard work is out, and only doing what one is guided to do following the focus is apt to be productive.
Also, that whatever we focus on, as we vibrate in a positive way with that desire, it comes to us, in a timely way, for our highest good.
For lots more information, and to get on the bandwagon which Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Christiane Northrup, MD, and many other well-knowns are following, surf over to www.Abraham-Hicks.com.
There are several Yahoo Groups which also deal with Abraham-related material, including the AbeQuotes, which is a labor of love of David Gordon (my new husband and I got together on 8/30/04 on David’s Abraham Singles page. We are Senior Citizens, and followers of Abraham and similar teachings for 20/10 years, respectively.)
David Gordon’s pages are at www.Abraham-Hicks.net (note .net and .com for the two separate sites).
Enjoy and potentially enjoy the new, happy, healthy life that so many followers of these Universal Principles are reporting!
The Hicks travel the country doing workshops, visiting 50 or so cities each year, where those attending may get picked to ask personal questions of Abraham. Now they’ve added cruises to the ways to enjoy Abraham! Wow! What a way to keep ones vibrations up!
I find when I’d normally feel guilty — like I’m procrastinating, there’s a reason I’m not supposed to do that thing right now, or at all! Learning to listen to one’s guidance is important. When it feels like there’s a wall up, listen to that.
