Create an Audio File with Audio Acrobat
Q: I notice a lot of people use Audio Acrobat to record their audio. Can you explain how to do this?
For those who don’t know, Audio Acrobat (http://audioacrobat.com) is an online audio recording software that allows you to record audio to be added to your site or sent to people. This is not a free service so you will need an account and pay your monthly fee in order to use the software.
Here are the basics to using the software:
1. Log in to your account
2. Choose the “Audio” Tab at top
3. Click the “Create New Audio” Link
4. Choose how you want to create your audio: Record By Phone or Audio Web Recorder
– To Record by Phone you click the “Record by Phone” button. That will give you a phone number to call and when prompted, you will enter the pin number followed by the # key.
You will be asked how many people will be recorded. If it’s is only you then choose 1 on your telephone.
You’ll then be asked to start your recording and to press any key once complete.
Once it is complete, you’ll be offered options for saving your recording, having it played back to you, erasing and starting over or to not save at all.
After you have saved your recording, log back in to your account, click the “Audio” tab, and then click the “Show Audios” link to see your recording listed. You can grab yoru audio from there.
– To record via your computer microphone.
At step 4 above, choose the “Audio Web Recorder” button.
You may be asked to allow AudioAcrobat.com to access your camera and microphone. In order to record an audio this way you need to allow this.
Click the Begin button to get started.
A new screen will pop up with a grey “Record” button, click this and begin recording your audio.
To stop, simply click the “Stop” button
To listen to your recording click the “Play” button
Once your satisfied with the audio, add a name and description for the file in the appropriate boxes and click the Save button.
You’ll then be taken to the Media Job List page that lists all your audios. You should see your most recent recording at the top of the list.
