A: As you know, a niche site is simply a website you create targeting a particular niche. This could be a website about buying designer shoes at discount prices or about breeding Himalyan cats. Every website (even a blog) should work to target a specific niche. If you want an attentive audience who responds to your offers, you want to keep your topic focused and targeted to a particular niche.

WordPress is a blogging tool, but really it’s just a content management system. It is an easy to get your content on the web. You don’t really need to even call it a “blog”…it’s simply another web building tool.

Therefore, you can build your niche site using WordPress. There’s no reason you can’t have articles about breeding Himalayan cats on your WordPress blog. Or you can make it a more personal “web log” or “journal” where you talk about your experience breeding Himalayan cats (of course, this is just an example — I’m not saying this is what you should make your website about).

If you have no web design skills, a web building tool like WordPress is always an option. Personally, I’ve never done the technical side of setting up a WordPress blog (i.e. I didn’t install the script or customize the template), but I do use WordPress to publish one of my blogs. It’s very easy to use, allows you to categorize your entries, use a copy and past editor and you can preschedule your entries.
