Should I Optimize My Website for Search Engines
Q: I am thinking of optimizing my site to get more traffic and hopefully increase my sales. Do you think it’s a good idea?
A: Sure, I think it’s a good idea. My websites receive over 100,000 visitors every month (as of March 2005) directly from organic search engine rankings. They are a huge part of my business, but as I mentioned in a recent blog entry…we need to use a well-rounded method of driving traffic to our sites. Don’t allow search engines to be your only source of traffic because if search engines ban you, you will have no traffic and no business.
- I do highly recommend you check out Michael Wong’s Search Engine Optimization Strategies because it is truly the guide that gave me the foundation I needed to start generating all that extra, free traffic. I’m sure it can help you do the same.
