5 Ways to Use Private Label Rights Articles and Content

So, you’ve bought some PLR content, added a few articles to your site and now you’re done, right? Maybe you’ve got stacks of PLR sitting on your hard drive collecting dust?

You can do more with that private label rights content!

Here are some ideas:

1. Your Website Add private label rights articles and content to your website. Make sure when you add the content that you use it with purpose. Will you add an affiliate link? Will you promote a product you sell or point to a service you offer?

2. Newsletter Articles If you publish a weekly newsletter, you can use PLR articles or break up a PLR eBook to use as articles for your newsletter.

3. Draw Traffic Instead of emailing a full article directly in your newsletter, you could also use a short snippit of the article in an email which you then use to direct people to your site to read more.

4. Blog It Sometimes it’s not easy to come up with blog content. Using PLR articles or a PLR eBook broken into articles can help you keep your blog updated on a regular basis. This is turn draws more search engine traffic with targeted, quality content.

5. Ebook You can find PLR eBooks ready to use. These can either be sold on your website or given away to use for viral marketing. If you decide to give away your eBook, you’ll want to use it to direct people back to your website and increase your traffic.

These five ideas are just to get you started with PLR content. There are many uses and I’m sure if you think about it you can come up with some creative ways to use the content for your business and websites. The important thing to remember is, as long as you are providing something your visitors are looking for and appreciate it doesn’t matter if you didn’t write every word yourself.

  • Hi Wendy,
Wonderful article. PLR is great stuff!

I especially liked what you said in #1 about adding PLR as content to your website with a PURPOSE. There are easy ways to monetize an article when you give it some thought before hand.

    Thanks,
    Peggy

  • Thanks for the great article Wendy! Re suggestion #1, wouldn’t adding PLR content to your website have the ability to hurt you due to duplicate content issues? It can be that the PLR article you’re publishing have been published before right?

  • I agree with Sarah. Using PLR for reports or as part of an info product is one thing. But, blogging it is just lazy blogging. Aside from search engines seeing the duplicate content, as soon as a reader realizes your content comes from someplace else, your reputation will suffer.

I don’t recommend PLR for blogging, and this coming from a person who blogs for a living.

    Just my two cents.

Hi Sarah, I’ll let Wendy know that you had a question for her, but I can probably offer some insight too.

Sites do just fine with a combination of original and reprinted/PLR content. Plus, you can edit the PLR if you do have concerns or just want to reshape the message for your readers.

In all the years of people spreading duplicate content fears, I’ve yet to see anyone penalized for having articles on their site that were published elsewhere. The search engines may choose to ignore those particular pages, but it’s unlikely you’d actually be penalized.

Penalties are more likely to come in when you base sites solely on unedited reprinted content…but mixing it up isn’t likely to hurt you.

  • I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don’t know what to

say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.

  • Hi Sarah and David,

I agree with Alice’s comment. If you’re using only unedited PLR as content for your site, then it will likely suffer with the search engines.

I’ve been mixing up original content and PLR on my sites for several years as well and haven’t been penalized.

Actually, I did a test with one site using only unedited PLR articles in one niche to see what would happen and that particular site remained dormant as far as traffic from search engines was concerned.

  • Thanks for responding Alice and Wendy! :)

Yes, mixing up original with PLR content makes perfect sense. It’s definitely a key ingredient in using PLR content on your sites effectively.
