A Former Auto Dealer General Manager Makes it Big…and Teaches Others Too

Mike Filsaime combined 14 years experience as a General Manger for one of the big auto makers and a computer science and business administration education to become a successful Internet marketer who in just 3 short years became a millionaire.

In 2004 Mike was able to leave his very handsome salary of $180,000 a year behind to come home as a full time online business owner. All because he took the time to learn and apply a ton of smaller, less known marketing techniques that afforded him the ability to leave his GM job. Mike realized quickly on his road to success it was the small changes that were vital to his success.

Thoughts About Mike: Although, I’ve met and chatted with Mike in person a number of times and find him to be a very genuine and brilliant man, I don’t always find a whole lot of appeal in his product offerings.

With his earlier days of creating products to target freebie seekers like a safelist (at ListDotCom.com) and an advertising toolbar (at InstantBuzz.com), many of his offers seem to be made for the marketing to marketers type of crowd.

And yes, I’m aware of the irony of my statement since I market to marketers, but somehow I feel a little dirty after I think of things like safelists, advertising toolbars and the fire sales he seems to have made popular. ;-)

I have been asked to reviews Mike’s training materials in the past, but I didn’t get very far because I found his lectures seemed to focus on how much money he made on various promotions. I saw more bragging than substance, but I do know the substance is in there. I just couldn’t seem to pay attention long enough to get to it. Perhaps I didn’t give it a good chance, but hey, I was raised watching Sesame Street, so my attention span is a bit challenged.

Despite my slightly critical thoughts, Mike has an amazingly faithful and large following, so there is certainly something to this guy. You can see all of Mike’s sites here.
