“Would you like to manage the building of our company website and maybe be a go between marketing and IT?”
It was Jon, the IT manager. I looked at him wide eyed and said, “Seriously?” “Yeah! Absolutely. You know the marketing and really understand the technologies that would allow both marketing and IT to truly work together.” Little did Jon know at that time, how his little idea started a whole new career for me. If you’re reading this, thanks Jon!
Honestly, this is the not the first time a tech manager has suggested something similar to me. Both marketing and technology excite me. Where there are opportunities to make them both work together, that’s where I excel. In fact, the whole Internet Marketing scene is tech meets marketing world to me. It is this and the being an early adopter of blogging for business that led me to create Blogging Starter Pack and TechBasedMarketing.
The geek in me likes to explore the inner workings of web sites, Internet content management, order management, checkout systems, membership systems and just about anything that makes running a business smoother, faster, easier. So that’s pretty much what I do.
Since 2004, I’ve been helping other Internet Marketers automate, develop and use systems for their content site, membership sites, blogs and stores. I look forward to discussiong blogs, blogging, automation and software with you.
